The DWL-7100AP operates seamlessly and simultaneously in both the 2.4GHz and 5GHz frequency bands and over multi-mode spectrums for less signal interference. Network Administrators can configure various wireless settings such as using the DWL-7100AP as an 802.11a wireless bridge while simultaneously providing Access Point functionality to 802.11b and 802.11g networks. The DWL-7100AP offers several modes: Access Point, Point-to-Point Bridge, Point-to-Multipoint Bridge, and Repeater which features Wireless Distribution System (WDS), giving users more flexible connectivity options than a standard Access Point.

The DWL-7100AP is ideal for network administrators who require advanced management controls and network security features. The DWL-7100AP offers 152-bit WEP encryption and incorporates WPA (Wi-Fi Protected Access), which has both certificate-based authentication and AES (Advanced Encryption Security) protocols available. All configuration settings can be managed via a Web-based interface.
