APC SUA750XL Smart-UPS XL 750VA USB/Serial UPS
|
|
Introduction
APC
Smart-UPS® XL protects your data by supplying
reliable, network-grade power with scalable run-time
in tower and rack mount form factors. With optional,
matching battery packs, run-time can be easily extended
and optimized for the application. APC understands
long run-time requirements so; Smart-UPS® XL's
can be configured with up to 10 additional battery
packs - for run-times exceeding 24 hours, if necessary.
The convergence of voice and data networks is placing
higher demands on availability expectations - and
the Smart-UPS® XL delivers. Voice over Internet
Protocol (VoIP), e-commerce, WiFi ("hotspots",
WLAN/ WWAN, and mixed wireless), and data enabled
PBX's are a few of the applications driving the
need for Smart-UPS® XL. APC Smart-UPS® XL
is also the perfect UPS for fileservers (Intel or
UNIX based), minicomputers, Network switches and
hubs, ATM's, telecommunications systems and other
mission-critical applications requiring longer runtime.
|
|
|
With included PowerChute® management software
for servers and workstations, IT administrators
can provide safe system shutdown and advanced UPS
management (All major operating systems supported).
Connectivity is through a serial or USB port (USB
not standard on all models, see specific models
for details). Additional manageability is available
through the SmartSlot, an internal accessory slot
that allows you to install optional accessories
to enhance the performance of your UPS. Network
connection with Web browser management and/or environmental
monitoring, serial port expansion, and out-of-band
management options are available. With pure sine-wave
output ensuring compatibility with all connected
devices, Intelligent Battery Management ensuring
a highly available UPS and an advanced 16 segment
bar graph display ensuring information and management,
the Smart-UPS® XL is a UPS you can count on.
Features
Reliability
|
|
|
Line-interactive |
Innovative line-interactive design uses the
DC to AC power inverter "in reverse," like a
battery charger, during normal operation providing
greater performance and efficiency.
|
|
|
Network-grade line conditioning |
Full time EMI/RFI filters prevent line noise
from causing data errors |
|
|
Sine-wave output |
Sine-wave output provides assurance of compatibility
with all loads. (Does not apply to SU420NET/SU620NET
models) |
|
|
Lightning and Surge Protection |
When measured via ANSI/IEEE 587 Category ''A"
and "B" tests, the suppression performance of
the APC Smart-UPS is superior to virtually all
separate surge suppressors. |
|
|
Automatic Self Test |
The product automatically performs a self-test
every two weeks. This ensures you will be alerted
to degraded batteries before they wear out.
Through software, or the push of a button, you
may perform self-tests anytime. |
|
|
Unattended Shutdown |
In the event of an extended power outage, an
APC Smart-UPS will inter-face with PowerChute
plus via the serial port to perform automatic
safe shutdown of the attached system. Power
failures can occur at night, on weekends, or
while the system administrator is out of the
building, which makes automatic safe shutdown
critical. Smart-UPS provides extensive unattended
safe shutdown of many operating systems.
|
|
|
Site wiring fault indicator |
Alerts you to potential problems, such as missing
ground and reversed polarity, two common miswirings
which usually require an electrician's visit
to diagnose (120VAC models only). |
|
|
Alarms |
Audible alarms alert you to changes in operating
environment and battery conditions. Some alarms
are software configurable and most can also
be suppressed or delayed to eliminate nuisance
alarms. |
|
|
Availability
|
|
|
AVR Boost |
Automatically corrects brownout conditions allowing
you to work through brownouts without unnecessary
battery drain. |
|
|
AVR Trim |
Automatically corrects overvoltage conditions
allowing you to work through overvoltages without
unnecessary battery drain. |
|
|
CellGuard |
Improved reliability results from a precision
battery charging system, and automatic true-load
battery tests. Redundant overcharge protection
contributes to longer battery life. SmartBoost
and SmartTrim regulate under- and overvoltages
without switching to battery. |
|
|
Advanced Battery Monitoring |
The product automatically performs a self-test
every two weeks. This ensures you will be alerted
to degraded batteries before they wear out.
Through software, or the push of a button, you
may perform self-tests anytime. |
|
|
Faster Recharge Time |
The Smart-UPS battery charging system is microprocessor
controlled to precisely charge batteries in
less time than legacy UPS systems. This makes
your system available more quickly for subsequent
power disturbances. |
|
|
QuickSwap |
The 60 second, user friendly, hot-swappable
battery replacement system saves the time and
expense of returning the UPS to the factory
for battery service, and allows safe and easy
replacement of batteries while your system is
up and running. Replacement battery kits ship
in a reusable box for convenient return of exhausted
batteries to a recycling center or to APC.
|
|
|
Accessories |
By adding APC accessory cards into the built-in
SmartSlot, you can monitor power conditions
and take action. The addition of the accessory
cards increases overall system availability
by proactively notifying you of conditions that
could affect uptime. |
|
|
Manageability
|
|
|
Built-in SmartSlot |
These products are equipped with a built-in
SmartSlot allowing you to implement various
UPS Accessory cards to customize and enhance
the management of your Smart-UPS. Optional accessories
allow you to remotely reboot individual devices,
monitor ambient temperature and humidity and
work with Emergency Power-Off (EPO) systems.
(SmartSlot option not available on SU420NET/SU620NET
models) |
|
|
Status Indicator LED's |
Provides status at a glance instantly assess
the status of your power and the APC Smart-UPS
without even pushing a button. Bar meters and
status indicators are simple to use and easy
to understand. Visible and audible alarms alert
you to fault conditions. |
|
|
Load Meter |
The Load Meter prevents you from exceeding UPS
capacity. The Volt Meter reports utility line
voltage and battery capacity, allowing you to
gauge how much time you have before batteries
are depleted. An alarm sounds when batteries
are low, allowing you time to save data and
shutdown the system. The Load Meter and Volt
Meter features are not available on the SU420NET/620NET
models. |
|
|
Alarms |
Audible alarms alert you to changes in operating
environment and battery conditions. Some alarms
are software configurable and most can also
be suppressed or delayed to eliminate nuisance
alarms. |
|
|
Software |
PowerChute Business Edition, departmental-level
UPS management software, provides safe system
shutdown and UPS management for servers and
workstations. |
